Sketch of quilts hangin in the elevator. They would cover the walls, floor to ceiling.

THey would hang from grommets across the top. Many elevators are equipt with posts/ hooks to hang protective blankets to cover the walls. I would match these to existing hardware.

The works wouldn’t impede the functionality of the elevator.

Examples of the materials to be used in the quilts.

They would be made of durable denim, cotton canvas, and workwear fabrics so would they would hold up to wear and tear.

Riders in the elevator could lean against them with out worry. They could be laundered and rehung if they get dirty, just like a pair of work coveralls.

Just like a favorite pair of jeans, use makes the work better. Showing a record of its history.

Examples of industrially made elevator quilts that my works will reference while performing the same function.

Example of previous quilt I made with workwear textiles.
